Southern Cali in a Nutshell

Today is the day that we finally say “Adios Cali”. It has been fun but this afternoon we will make our way over to Arizona for the next month and a half. While in So Cal we managed to travel the coast, avoid the torrential rains and mudslides (more the mud than the rain), had the pleasure of letting Stanley rest and slowly roll his way through LA traffic (10 miles in 2 hours is always fun) and we visited some good friends from “back in the day”. I did miss the Chocolate Bacon Bar from Animal 🙁 but the thought of trying to roll Stanley through West Hollywood sounds like his biggest nightmare. We did manage to hit some cool cities including San Diego, La Jolla, Escondido, Venice, Malibu, Slab City and Palm Springs. We didn’t hit as many breweries as I would have hoped, but there is only so much we can do 😉 Slab city was probably one of the coolest spots due to the people we met and nature of this self-proclaimed, free boondocking city. I found a great article on the Slabs which you can check out here.

Also, you have to check out this video posted by Kev on the NuRVers forum from CNN Money. We came across this street in Venice and I was truly shocked that they allowed all the trash and junk hanging off these RVs which seemed to be parked for days, if they were even able to run. We parked one block away and I found it ironic to say we were “one block away from homeless row”. Although, it’s not completely accurate to say they are homeless, after all we do call Stanley our home and it is our only one, but rest assured we do have electricity in Stanley and we DO take showers 😉

Here are some photo highlights from the last month… thanks for following!!
